As I sit here, looking out over the beautiful shores of the Pacific, I have time to reflect on yet another year gone by. It is also a time to learn from the past and develop a plan to make life even better. No matter where you have chosen to spend your summer break, I pray that you too have been able to rejuvenate yourself for yet another year of drill team. Remember how important you are to those young students whose lives you are molding. Make a difference, an even bigger difference this year than last. Be wise . . . focus on what is important and be wise enough to overlook the unimportant.
Your DTDA Executive Board has the 20th Anniversary celebration plans well under way. We held a retreat in elegant Salado, Texas and spent an entire weekend brainstorming and preparing for this year's convention. I'd like to extend a special thank you to C.R. & Joyce Pennington for their kindness and hospitality as the host & hostess of our retreat. Mark your calendars now for a "walk down memory lane" as we "Celebrate" our 20th . . . April 14 – 18, 1999 at the Austin Renaissance Hotel. I promise you it will be unforgettable.
May God bless you and guide you through this year!
Respectfully yours,
Annette Stark
